I loved the grounds, and the Carl Sandburg Home. In large print on the brochure, this quote from Carl Sandburg: "It is necessary now and then for a man to go away by himself and experience loneliness; to sit on a rock in the forest and ask of himself, 'Who am I, and where have I been, and where am I going?'" ~~~~ I think I would have enjoyed spending time with Mr. Sandburg. ~~~~ I hiked some distance from the parking lot, and arrived at the admissions desk about 11 o'clock. I got the last ticket for the 12:30 tour. In the interim I hiked a trail, and visited the goat barns.~~~~~~~~~~
