I **love** to watch UNC-TV (Public Broadcasting) programs regarding scenic interests in North Carolina. Because of them, I visited Grandfather Mountain, and Mount Airy. Last night I learned of Stone Mountain Park, Georgia. As God is my witness, I had **never** heard of the carving on the mountain. We all know about Mount Rushmore but how many know of Stone Mountain?? Wikipedia has all the details!!I'm not a "Theme Park" person but I am intrigued by the carving, and the museum. I'm more interested in the camping, and hiking. This destination is going on my "to do" travel list. Approximately 209 miles from Shelby.
